Getting to French Pass

The drive to French Pass is one of the most scenic in New Zealand, featuring farmland, mineral belt, native bush and dramatic seascapes.

It takes about 1½ - 2 hours from Rai Valley, depending on how many photos you stop to take. Rai Valley is about 1¼ hour drive from Picton, or ¾ hour drive from Nelson.

Prepare your trip to French Pass

French pass is remote: There are no shops, restaurants or petrol stations closeby. The nearest shops and petrol stations are in Rai Valley or Ōkiwi Bay. When coming over to French Pass Beachfront Villas, please bring your own food.
